Information system of the driver (FIS)

General information

Information system of the driver (FIS) is information center of the car.

"FIS" is information center of your car. This system easily and quickly informs you rather current technical condition of the car. For example, you can learn run before the next maintenance for the purpose of performance of maintenance and repair works and many other things. Besides, at the corresponding complete set of the car the driver can obtain data of radio system, phone, telematics and system of navigation.

On cars with system of navigation * Audi or Audi telematik * the image of information on the display is multi-color and possesses the increased resolution.

Indication of information system of the driver is brought to the display located in the center of a control panel.

Display of a control panel: — indication of radio; — indication of external temperature; — a course stock on fuel.

On cars with automatic transmission information is output to the display only after inclusion of range of the movement.

Indication of radio

At absence after control the name of radio station or a radio frequency with additional information appears the monitoring system of malfunctions of display of faults of the 2nd degree of a priority and the included radio (depending on a complete set of radio) after indication "OK" goes out, on the display.

This indication is additional information of the radio display.

Indication of external temperature

Indication of external temperature is brought to the display at the included ignition. On cars with automatic transmission indication appears only after inclusion of the mode of the movement.

At temperatures from +5 °C to -5 °C to the left of indication of temperature the snowflake is highlighted. Emergence of a symbol in the form of a snowflake warns the driver about need of extra care in view of danger of ice. On the motionless car or at the movement with very small speed indication can be slightly higher than the actual temperature owing to heat radiated by the engine.

On cars with the conditioner when switching the display on indications by the Fahrenheit scale (°F) respectively indication of external temperature, the Heater, ventilation and the conditioner of air automatically changes.

At a conclusion to indication of data of system of navigation (maintenance to the purpose) indication of external temperature appears in the second line of the display panel of radio.

Course stock on fuel

This indication helps when planning.

Indication of a stock of the course on fuel in km is brought to the display.

Calculations of a stock of the course fuel consumption on the last 30 km of a way is assumed as a basis. At more economic subsequent movement the stock of the course increases.

Warning of an open door and luggage carrier

The pictogram is output to indication if at the included ignition are not closed at least one door, a cowl or a luggage carrier. The pictogram specifies also, what door or doors are not closed, as an example the door of the driver and the right back door are shown.

The cowl or luggage carrier represented on the pictogram of the display blink if they are not closed. Right after full closing of all doors, a cowl and a luggage carrier this pictogram dies away.

Indication of the pictogram warning about an open door and a luggage carrier of cars with information system of the driver and the traveling computer * can be disconnected short-term pressing of command keys the traveling computer. However the pictogram will appear at once again after change of provision of doors, a cowl or a luggage carrier.

Monitoring system of malfunctions

Introduction

At the included ignition and during the movement the system of automatic control of malfunctions continuously controls certain functions and technical condition of systems of the car.

Or about need of urgent performance of maintenance and repair works the system informs on the arising malfunctions a sound signal, accompanying it with red and yellow light symbols of the display of a control panel depending on priority degree.

Red symbols signal about danger, and yellow are alarm symbols. Besides, in certain situations, in addition to red symbols there are instructions to the driver.

Instructions to the driver

In addition to control lamps and symbols instructions to the driver are output to the display of a control panel.

At emergence of the message on malfunction of function of a lamp after control of function of lamps, at the movement with the tightened emergency brake, and also before inclusion of the mode of the movement of cars with automatic transmission the corresponding indication of the instruction to the driver is brought to the display.

Besides, at a blinking on the display of any symbol of the first degree of a priority, the driver can bring the corresponding instructions to indication.

Conclusion to indication of instructions to the driver

For example, on the display there is a symbol of malfunction of pressure of motive oil . If you press the CHECK button now, on the display there will be the following instruction:

Motor abstellen, Ölstand prüfen (to kill the engine, to check oil level)

This indication of the display dies away approximately 5 seconds later. Short-term pressing of the CHECK button the instruction can again be output to indication.

The instruction of "Handbremse angesolen" (tighten the emergency brake) and "Beim Einlegen einer Fahrstufe im stand fussbremse betatigen" (at a choice of the mode of the movement of the motionless car press a brake pedal) cannot bring to indication repeatedly. These instructions die away after removal of the car from the emergency brake or inclusion of the mode of the movement.

The warning of the tightened emergency brake

At the movement on rashness with the tightened emergency brake sounding of a buzzer (a sound signal) is distributed and on the display there is an instruction:

Handbremse angesolen (will tighten the emergency brake)

This prevention appears at the movement more than 3 seconds with a speed more than 5 km/h.

Cars with a manual box of gear shifting

Control of functions: manual transmission

At ignition inclusion the monitoring system of malfunctions exercises automatic control of functions. If the functions checked by the monitoring system of malfunctions as it should be, for some seconds indication "OK" lights up.

The corresponding indication instead of indication "OK" testifies to existence of malfunctions. At the same time the warning signal sounds.

In the absence of indication "OK", and also malfunction, check the monitoring system of malfunctions of the car is subject.

Cars with automatic transmission

Control of functions: automatic transmission

At ignition inclusion the monitoring system of malfunctions exercises automatic control of functions.

When finding the lever of the selector in the provision "P" or "N" on the display there is an instruction

With malfunctions, approximately in 15 seconds after start of the engine, the above-stated instruction to the driver is replaced by indication of the corresponding symbol of malfunction. At the same time the warning signal sounds.

In the absence of indication "OK", and also malfunction, check the monitoring system of malfunctions of the car is subject.

Red symbols

The red symbol signals about danger.

The blinking on the display of a symbol means malfunction of brake system. In addition indication of one of two instructions is brought to the display:

Vorsicht! Storung Bremse (ABS) Service aufsuchen

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Stop. Check the level of brake fluid, see the Head the Current leaving and service.

At refusal of ABS the control lamp of ABS lights up together with a symbol of malfunction of brake system.

Malfunction of the cooling system

Urgently eliminate malfunction of the cooling system.

The overheat or falling of level of cooling liquid can be the cause of a blinking of a symbol during the movement. In addition indication of the following instruction is brought to the display:

Motor abstellen und Kuhlmittel prufen (to kill the engine and to check the level of cooling liquid)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Stop. Kill the engine. Check the level of cooling liquid, see the Head the Current leaving and service. If necessary add cooling liquid, see the Head the Current leaving and service. Continue the movement only after the symbol goes out. If necessary use the qualified help.

If the level of cooling liquid in norm, can be the cause of an overheat failure of the fan of the cooling system.

If the control lamp of the category of the accumulator, see Governing bodies and devices in addition burns, the reason can consist in break of a ridge belt.

It is impossible to continue the movement if the symbol indicates malfunction of the cooling system - there is a danger of damage of the engine.

Low pressure of motive oil

Urgently eliminate malfunction.

The blinking on the display of a symbol testifies to pressure drop of oil below norm. In addition indication of the following instruction is brought to the display:

Motor abstellen Ölstand prüfen (to kill the engine, to check oil level)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Stop. Kill the engine. Check the level of motive oil, see the Head the Current leaving and service. If necessary use the qualified help.

Falling of level of motive oil is lower than norm

Add motive oil when falling its level below norm, see the Head the Current leaving and service.

Normal level of motive oil

It is impossible to continue the movement if the symbol blinks at the normal level of oil. Do not allow also operation of the engine idling - use the qualified help.

The control lamp of pressure of oil is not the index of its level in the lubrication system. Therefore check oil level regularly, it is the best of all when filling.

Yellow symbols

Yellow symbols are prevention symbols.

At emergence of a yellow symbol one warning signal is distributed. Check the corresponding function. At at once several violations of functioning of the second degree of a priority symbols appear consistently, with a duration of indication of each of them of 2 seconds.

Reserve reserve of fuel

If this symbol lights up the first time, it means that in a stock there were about 8-10 liters of fuel. Fill the car, see Gas station of the car.

Check the level of motive oil

At emergence of a symbol check oil level (The head the Current leaving and service) and if necessary add it.

Malfunction of a sensor of motive oil

At emergence of a symbol check the oil level sensor. Check oil level during each filling of the car with fuel (The head the Current leaving and service).

Wear of a brake slip

At emergence of a symbol check brake shoes of lobbies (and for one back) wheels.

Alarm system of excess of speed

Emergence of a symbol means that the actual speed exceeded the entered value of speed. Reduce speed.

Cars with the device of dynamic regulation of a tilt angle of headlights

Malfunction of the device of regulation of a tilt angle of headlights

Emergence of a symbol means malfunction of the device of dynamic regulation of a tilt angle of headlights. Make repair of the device of regulation of a tilt angle of headlights.

Falling of level of the washing liquid

Emergence of a symbol means need to add the washing liquid in the filling tank glass - and a faroomyvatel *, see the Head the Current leaving and service.

Alarm system of excess of speed

Emergence of a symbol means that the actual speed exceeded the entered value of speed of the second degree of the prevention. Reduce speed.

Accumulator tension deviation from norm

At emergence of a symbol check the following components:

• maple belt
• tension regulator
• condition of the accumulator

Malfunction of function of lamps

The monitoring system of function of lamps watches serviceability of lamps of the car.

At malfunction or refusal of a lamp the explanatory text is output to indication within the first five seconds together with a symbol. For example, at malfunction of the back left index of turn on the display of a control panel there is the following text:

In 5 seconds this additional indication dies away. For a repeated call of indication quickly press the CHECK button.

Possible causes of infringement of function of a lamp:

• defect of the glow lamp, see the Head Onboard electric equipment.
• burn-out of a safety lock, see the Head Onboard electric equipment.
• defects of connections in an electrical wiring.

Replace/repair connections in an electrical wiring and glow lamps.

Alarm system of excess of speed

Introduction

The alarm system of excess of speed allows to set restriction of speed which should not be exceeded.

Display: alarm system of excess of speed

The alarm system of excess of speed warns the driver about excess of previously entered speed. As soon as the actual speed exceeds the entered value approximately on 10 km/h, the warning signal is distributed. At the same time on the display there is an alarm symbol.

The alarm system of excess of speed allows to program two degrees of the prevention *, not the absolutely identical tasks functioning independently from each other and carrying out.

Despite existence of the device of the alarm system of excess of the programmed restriction of speed, control on a speedometer admissible rules the maximum speed.

Degree of the prevention 1: function

Value of degree of the prevention 1 can be changed during the movement.

Degree of the prevention 1 gives the chance to set restriction of speed during the movement. The entered value of speed remains in memory before ignition switching off if change of speed or cancellation of the introduced restriction did not take previously place.

The alarm symbol of the first degree of the prevention appears on the display at excess of the actual speed of the entered value. The symbol dies away at reduction of speed below the programmed value.

The symbol dies away, besides, at increase of speed of the about 40 km/h higher entered value within at least 10 seconds. Thus, however, there is no dumping of data of memory of the introduced restriction of speed.

Degree of the prevention 1 is programmed by the CHECK button.

Cancellation of the introduced restriction of speed

Successful input in memory is confirmed by short-term fire on the display of an alarm symbol of restriction of speed at a button otpuskaniye. The entered value of speed remains in memory before the following short-term pressing of the button at other speed or so far you pressing do not cancel more than 1 second the introduced restriction.

Degree of the prevention 2: function

Value of degree of the prevention 2 can be changed only at the switched-off ignition.

Degree of the prevention 2 gives the chance of programming and cancellation of the maximum restriction of speed only at the switched-off ignition. Programming of this prevention is recommended in need of the general reminder to the driver of maintenance of a certain maximum speed. For example, at the movement in the country with restriction of speed, maximum speed at the movement with winter tires. The alarm symbol of the second degree of the prevention appears on the display when the actual speed exceeds the entered value. The symbol dies away, unlike degree of the prevention 1, only at reduction of speed below the programmed size.

Value of degree of the prevention 2 is programmed and cancelled by the switches installed in the screen wiper handle.

Traveling computer

Introduction

The traveling computer analyzes and brings to indication of value of the current and average fuel consumption, average speed, a course stock on fuel and time in way.

Indication of the traveling computer: current fuel consumption

The traveling computer analyzes and brings the following information to the FIS display:

• Fuel reserve on the course
• Time in way
• Average fuel consumption
• Average speed
• Current fuel consumption

Information (a course stock on fuel, time in way, average fuel consumption, average speed and the current fuel consumption) is output to the FIS display in the above-stated sequence. All indicators (a course stock on fuel, time in way, average fuel consumption, average speed and the current fuel consumption) are displayed in metric, and in certain export options in English system of units.

Memory

The traveling computer is completed with two automatically working memories.

Traveling computer: cell of memory 1

Indication of number of the included memory is brought to the display by figure of negative display. Emergence on the display of figure 1 means a conclusion of indication of data of a single memory (memory 1). Emergence on the display of figure 2 means a conclusion of indication of data of the general memory (memory 2).

Single memory

In a single memory it is brought information from the moment of inclusion of ignition until its switching off. At renewal of the movement within 2 hours after switching off of ignition the new is added to already brought information. At a movement break more than 2 hours there is an automatic deleting of data of a memory.

General memory

Automatic deleting of data from memory of the general memory is impossible. It differs in it from a single memory. Thanks to it you can establish a time interval of the analysis of information or data.

Dumping button

The button of selection and conclusion to the display of indication of various parameters is installed in the handle of management of a screen wiper.

Consecutive short pressing of the Reset button carries out a choice of the following indication:

• single memory (cell of memory 1)
• general memory (cell of memory 2)
• navigation/telematics *
• switching off of the display

Display of faults of the monitoring system of malfunctions appears also at the switched-off display.

Use

Control of the traveling computer is exercised two switches installed in the handle of management of a screen wiper.

Choice of functions

Deleting of information

It is possible to establish by the button of dumping the following zero values:

• time in way
• average fuel consumption
• average speed of the movement

The traveling computer works only at the included ignition. At inclusion of ignition the last is brought to indication at the time of ignition switching off function. Short pressing of the switch of functions (A) or buttons of dumping (B) it is possible to disconnect also indication of a reminder on need of a break of the movement.

At a detachment of plugs of the accumulator all values brought in memory are erased.

Course stock on fuel

This indication helps when planning.

On the display there is an indication of a stock of the course in kilometers. This indication shows, how many kilometers the car still can pass on the actual rest of fuel in this mode of the movement. The course stock is determined by fuel by the discrete values counted by steps on 10 km.

Calculations of a stock of the course fuel consumption on the last 30 km of a way is assumed as a basis. At more economic subsequent movement the stock of the course increases.

Time in way

Indication of time in way reminds of need of a break for the movement.

Time in way with counting from the moment of the last dumping of data of memory of a memory is brought to indication. At desire to reckon time in way from a certain moment clear memory pressing of the Reset button (B).

Single memory

If the break of the movement makes more than two hours, there is an automatic dumping of indication of time in way.

General memory

Value of time in way remains at the switched-off ignition. At continuation of the movement the subsequent time of the movement is added to it.

Reminder on need of a break for the movement

In two hours after a start of motion, irrespective of the programmed function, there is an automatic switching on indication of time in way. The blinking indication of a look 2:00 reminds the driver of need to make a break in the movement.

Short-term pressing the top or lower party of the switch of functions or the Reset button given indication it is possible to switch off.

At continuation of the movement or if the break makes less than 10 minutes, in each next two hours the reminder on need to stop on rest will repeat with indication of time in a way of a look 4:00, 6:00, etc. Lasting break more than 10 minutes to the switched-off ignition there is a dumping of data of counting of time in way.

Average fuel consumption

This indication helps when planning movement.

The average fuel consumption in liters on 100 km calculated from the moment of the last dumping of data of memory is brought to indication of the display. By means of this indication it is possible to choose the movement mode corresponding to optimum fuel consumption. At desire of definition of average fuel consumption anew it is necessary to carry out dumping of data of memory pressing of the Reset button. At journey of the first 30 m after dumping zero value is brought to indication.

Single memory

If the break of the movement makes more than 2 hours, there is an automatic dumping of data of average fuel consumption.

General memory

At the switched-off ignition value of average fuel consumption remains in memory. At continuation of the movement data of the subsequent expense are considered.

Average speed of the movement

This indication helps when planning movement.

The average speed in km/h calculated from the moment of the last dumping of data of memory is brought to indication of the display. At desire of determination of average speed anew it is necessary to carry out dumping of data of memory pressing of the Reset button.

Single memory

If the break of the movement makes more than 2 hours, there is an automatic dumping of data of average speed.

General memory

At the switched-off ignition value of average speed remains in memory. At continuation of the movement also new data are considered.

Current fuel consumption

Indication of the current fuel consumption helps to save fuel.

Value of the current fuel consumption measured in l / 100 by km is brought to indication. By means of this indication it is possible to choose the movement mode corresponding to optimum fuel consumption.

The expense is calculated on each 30-meter site of a way. During a stop of the car indication of the last of the calculated values remains.

If after start of the engine function of definition of instant fuel consumption is caused, on the first 30-40 meters of a way average value is brought to indication it.

Indication of the menu (model with an autonomous heater)

Introduction

Through the corresponding teams of the menu of your car there is a possibility of control, inclusion and management (for example, an autonomous heater / fan *) separate functions. Besides, by means of the menu you can bring necessary information to indication of the FIS display. The device works only at the included ignition. Control is exercised the <Menu> key of the central console. The initial menu informs you rather different types of indication of the display. The following types of indication are possible:

Choice and input of teams of the menu

The Hilfe menu (help) serves only for information. Control in this menu is not represented possible.

At selection and confirmation two levels of the Computer menu (Computer 1 and Computer 2) appear pressing of the rotary/press button of the Computer menu. You need to choose and confirm again with the rotary/press button, an appropriate level.

Continue control process as follows:

As rotation of the rotary/press button choose an actual line (a red background). The chosen function joins installation in a tick small square ("yes"), and is switched off by retracting a tick ("no"). For return on higher level of the menu establish an arrow of selection of commands for Zuruck (back) and press the rotary/press button.

Some types of control require input of numerical values, for example, at installation of date. It is also carried out by rotation of the rotary/press button.

Establish by rotation of the rotary/press button a line of selection on Datum. If before the line Datum there is an empty small square, press the rotary/press button. Now in a small square there has to be a tick. Indication of the last determined date is removed. Rotation of the rotary/press button include function of indication of date and press the rotary/press button. Indication of date starts blinking. To the left or to the right establish by rotation of the rotary/press button the correct numerical value of day. Press the rotary/press button. Now indication of month blinks. In the same way establish if necessary month and year.
