For performance of many operations on maintenance and car repairs it needs to be lifted and established on two or four strong supports. As a rule, rises by HUNDRED car the elevator.

If under the car any works are performed, the car needs to be fixed reliably. Application of an onboard jack is admissible only when replacing wheels. Carrying out repair and other work under the car in this case is forbidden. It is life-threatening!

Points of rise and support of an automobile jack

General comments

The car has to be towed only for the eyes which are specially provided for this purpose.

Requirements of "Traffic regulations" for towage have to be observed.

The towing cable has to be elastic not to damage both cars. It is necessary to use only a cable from synthetic fibers or similar elastic materials. However it is safer to use a towing bar!

It is necessary to watch constantly that did not arise it is inadmissible a big tension, and at the same time there was no considerable resistance to swing of the car.

At towage of the car on edge of a dirt road always there is a danger of demolition on a roadside.

Before trying to start the engine towage, it is necessary to use whenever possible the battery of other car for start of the engine – address to appropriate section.

Both drivers have to know the features of driving at towage stated below and to have sufficient experience. Inexperienced drivers should not be at a wheel of any, other car.

When using a towing cable the driver of the towing car has to at start-off from a place and gear shifting especially smoothly to release a coupling pedal.

The driver of the towed car has to watch that the towing cable was constantly tense.

On both cars external light devices according to "Traffic regulations" have to be switched on.

Ignition has to be included the wheel was not blocked, and it was possible to include if necessary the index of turn, a sound signal, screen wipers and windscreen washers.

The amplifier of the drive of working brake system executes the function only at the working engine therefore at the switched-off engine it is necessary to press much more strongly when braking a brake pedal.

As at the idle engine the power steering does not function, at turns it is necessary to make bigger effort for a steering wheel.

In the absence of oil in AT it is necessary to tow the car only with the hung-out driving wheels.

Models with AT and the full drive: Towage of the car with the lifted lobbies or back wheels is not allowed.

Models with RKPP and the full drive: If the car is towed with the lifted lobbies or back wheels, the speed of towage should not exceed 50 km/h, and the distance of towage should not exceed 50 km.

Models with automatic transmission

Turn a key in the switch of ignition in situation 2.

Transfer the AT selector lever to the situation "N".

Maximum speed of towage: 50 km/h.

Maximum range of towage: 50 km.
Non-compliance maximum speeds or ranges of towage can lead to damage of a transmission.

On long distances or in case of damage of a transmission towage is allowed only with the hung-out driving wheels.

At towage with the lifted forward bridge or control of the parking brake at the stand for test of brakes the engine has to be switched off. Otherwise, owing to activization of brakes by electronic antistrange system (ESP), there will be a damage of brakes of the back bridge.

Installation of a towing cable / bar

Forward towing eye

Take a towing eye from a set of the onboard tool, at the left in an aperture for a spare wheel.

Disconnect a cover (1). For this purpose press a thumb below, around a pad (2) and press fingers above a little, having released a cover (clips spring).

Screw an eye in a carving opening against the stop by hand, then insert sideways into an eye a screw-driver or a wrench for a wheel and tighten an eye.

After completion of towage put an eye in a set of the onboard tool.

Connect a cover a pad (2) below, press it from above and thus record it.

Back towing eye

Execution 1: Screw a back towing eye the same as a lobby.

Execution 2: The towing eye is welded from below under a bumper.

Emergency start of the car towage

On models with AT - it is impossible.

For an exception of damages of the catalytic converter it is not allowed to start the car at the warm engine by towage or pushing.

Previously try to start the engine by means of the battery of other car.

Models with AT cannot be started by towage.

Models with the petrol engine can be towed for the purpose of start of the engine on distance no more than 50 m since otherwise there is a danger of damage of the catalytic converter.

Before towage include 2 or the 3rd transfer, press and hold a coupling pedal.

Include ignition.

Slowly include coupling if both cars started moving.

As soon as the engine was started, press a pedal of coupling and switch off transfer not to run into the pulling car.
