Removal and installation of the generator

The car is equipped with the generator of alternating current. Depending on model and the equipment the car can be equipped with generators of various power.

If electric consumers of high power are established one car later, it is necessary to check, whether the power of the installed generator is sufficient. If necessary, it is possible to install more powerful generator.

The alternating current developed by the generator becomes straight in constant for what the diode rectifier serves. Charging of the battery occurs a direct current. The regulator of tension operates the size of charging current so that irrespective of number of turns of the engine tension remains equal 14 Century.

Generators are available on sale as exchange devices. The cost of the damaged generator is set off upon purchase new or repaired.

At work with electric equipment in a motive compartment surely disconnect a negative cable (-) of the battery.

Thereof records of electronic blocks of memory, such as, data in memory of malfunctions of the engine are erased. Before shutdown of the battery study, please, indications of the Section Replacement of the Battery.

  • Do not switch-off the battery or the regulator of tension at the working engine.
  • Do not remove the generator at the attached battery.
  • When carrying out electrowelding works surely switch-off the battery.

4-cylinder petrol engine

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) of the battery.

Observe indications of the Section Replacement of the Battery.

  1. Remove the top cover of the engine, address to the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  2. Remove the lower cover of the engine, address to the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  3. Merge cooling liquid from a radiator, address to the Section Replacement of Cooling Liquid.
  4. Release a collar and remove a hose of cooling liquid from a radiator branch pipe, over the generator.
  5. Turn off bolts of fastening and remove the control unit over the radiator fan, put it aside.
  6. Weaken maple a belt and take off it from a generator pulley, address to the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the drive of auxiliary units.
  1. Depending on model of the car disunite the generator socket with (1) to (3).
  1. Turn out 4 screws of fastening (arrow) above and below and remove the generator from the engine.
  2. Disconnect a plug 30/B+ wire from the generator.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fix a plug 30/B+ wire the moment 16nm and the generator to the engine the moment 23nm.
  2. Further installation is carried out in sequence, the return to removal.
  3. After installation start the engine and check work of a maple belt.

4-cylinder diesel engine

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) of the battery.

Observe indications of the Section Replacement of the Battery.

  1. Remove the top cover of the engine, address to the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  2. Weaken maple a belt and take off it from a generator pulley, address to the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the drive of auxiliary units.
  1. Holding a fan drive pulley with the viscous coupling a special key 3212 or KLANN KL-0149-131 from a provorachivaniye, turn off it a face key.
  1. Remove a krylchatka and put her in a fan casing.
  2. Disunite the socket of the generator and disconnect a plug 30/B+ wire from the generator.
  1. Turn out two bolts of fastening (arrow) and remove the generator from the engine.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fix the generator on the engine the moment 25nm.
  2. Fix a plug 30 wire / + the moment 16nm.
  3. Fix the fan with the viscous coupling on the bearing the moment 45nm.
  4. Further installation is carried out in sequence, the return to removal. After installation start the engine and check work of a maple belt.

6-cylinder petrol engine

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) of the battery.

Observe indications of the Section Replacement of the Battery.

  1. Remove the top cover of the engine, address to the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  2. Remove the lower cover of the engine forward, address to the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  3. Weaken a tension of a maple belt and remove it from a generator pulley, address to the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the drive of auxiliary units.
  4. Cut a collar of fastening of a cable and release a starter cable from the holder.
  5. Automatic transmission: Disconnect the holder of pipelines of liquid for AT.
  6. Disunite the socket of the generator and disconnect the plug 30/B+ from the generator.
  1. Turn out two screws of fastening (an arrow on an accompanying illustration) and remove the generator from the engine.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fix the generator the moment 22nm (M8 screw) or 45nm (M10 screw) on the engine.
  2. Fix a plug 30/B+ wire the moment 16nm.
  3. Further installation is carried out in sequence, the return to removal.
  4. After installation start the engine and check work of a maple belt.

6-cylinder diesel engine

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) of the battery.

Observe indications of the Section Replacement of the Battery.

  1. Remove the top cover of the engine, address to the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  2. Remove the lower cover of the engine forward, address to the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  3. Install the forward panel in the provision of service, address to the Section Installation of the Forward Panel in situation for maintenance.
  1. Disconnect the fan with the viscous coupling.
  1. Disconnect a cover of a gear belt ahead at the left and on the right.
  2. Disconnect a cover of a maple belt, pay attention thus to the remote plug.
  3. Take off maple a belt, address to the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the drive of auxiliary units.
  4. Disunite the socket of the generator and disconnect a plug 30/B+ wire from the generator.
  1. Turn off bolts of fastening (1) and (2) and disunite the engine hydrosupport socket.
  1. Remove the generator from the engine and take out it down.

Thus carefully take aside pipelines of cooling liquid.

Installation

  1. Fix the generator on the engine the moment 25nm.
  2. Fix a plug 30 wire / + the moment 16nm.
  3. Fix the fan with the viscous coupling on the bearing the moment 45nm.
  4. Further installation is carried out in sequence, the return to removal.
  5. After installation start the engine and check work of a maple belt.
