Removal and installation of a head of cylinders

Petrol engine of 1.6 l of ALZ

11 — Sealing laying of a head of cylinders. Surely replace After replacement of laying it is necessary to replace cooling liquid.
12 — the Head of cylinders
Check existence of deformations. Admissible not planeness: 0.1 mm. After replacement of a head of cylinders it is necessary to replace cooling liquid. The minimum height after processing: 132.6 mm.

13 — the Bolt of fastening of a head of cylinders. Surely replace. Bolts of Polydrive are turned out and rolled by the AUDI-3452 or HAZET 2779-9 tool. Observe sequence of an otvorachivaniye and inhaling of bolts.
14 — Sealing laying. At damage replace.
15 — the Cover of a head of cylinders
16 — the Bolt with the remote plug, 10nm

The specified process demands existence of a certain experience. Therefore here the description only of the most important instructions intended for the skilled mechanic is provided.

General instructions

Surely replace bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders, the self-stopped nuts, bolts tightened by a dinamometrichesky key, and also sealing rings and laying.

If the replaceable head of cylinders is established, before installation of a cover of a head of cylinders it is necessary to grease all contact surfaces between basic elements, roller levers and the sliding surfaces of cams of a camshaft.

Plastic laying for protection of open valves is allowed to be deleted only before installation of a head of cylinders.

If the head of cylinders is replaced, it is necessary to replace cooling liquid.

Instructions on removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The head of cylinders is removed only on the cold engine (not higher than body temperature).
  2. Take off maple a belt and the device of a tension.
  3. Take off a gear belt, address to the Section Removal and installation of a gear belt.
  4. The fuel system is under pressure! Before a detachment of hoses close connection by a thick rag. Then, carefully turning off a hose, remove pressure.
  5. After opening of fuel-supply lines close openings to exclude hit in fuel system of dirt.
  6. Remove the inlet pipeline.
  7. At removal of a reception pipe of system of production of the fulfilled gases watch that the docking element in an exhaust pipe was not bent more than on 10 °.
  8. Turn off bolts of fastening of a cover a head of cylinders cross-wise.
  1. Turn off bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders in sequence with 1 on 10 at first half way, and then in the same sequence completely.

Instructions on installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. In the presence of cracks between saddles of valves or between a saddle and a carving opening under a candle the head of cylinders can be used further if width of cracks does not exceed 0.3 mm or only the first 4 rounds of a carving are mentioned.
  2. In deaf openings under bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders in the block of cylinders availability of oil or cooling liquid is not allowed. Remove oil or liquid with a rag and a screw-driver.
  3. Take out new laying of a head of cylinders from packing only just before installation.
  4. Handle with sealing laying extremely with care. Damages of laying lead to tightness loss.
  5. Carefully clear sealing surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders. Thus watch that on surfaces there were no flutes or scratches of big length (at application of an emery paper its granularity should not exceed 100 units).
  6. Carefully remove the remains of an emery paper.
  7. If the cranked shaft in the course of work was turned - install the piston of the first cylinder in situation VMT and again turn a cranked shaft a little back, address to the Section Removal and installation of a gear belt.
  8. Before installation to the place of a head of cylinders establish cranked and distributive shaft in position VMT of the first cylinder, address to the Section Removal and installation of a gear belt.
  9. For centering insert into a forward external opening for bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders the directing mandrel of AUDI-3450/2A or HAZET 2571-5.

Before installation of a head of cylinders check, it is possible to take out the directing mandrel up. If necessary, there is some to proshlifuyta a notch of the directing mandrel.

  1. Establish new sealing laying so that the inscription on it (number of the spare part) could be read.
  2. Establish a head of cylinders, insert the remained 8 bolts of fastening and tighten them by hand.
  3. Turn out through openings for a bolt the directing mandrel, rotating it to the left.
  4. Insert the remained 2 bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders and also tighten them by hand.
  1. Tighten bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders in sequence with 1 on 10 efforts given in Specifications.
  1. Further installation is carried out in sequence, the return to removal.
  2. Establish into place a gear belt and adjust gas distribution phases.
  3. Establish maple a belt and the device of a tension.
  4. Replace cooling liquid.

Petrol engines 1.8 and 2.0 of l

Head of cylinders. Petrol engine of 1.8 l

1 — Sealing laying of a head of cylinders. At installation number of the spare part has to show towards a head of cylinders. After replacement of laying it is necessary to replace cooling liquid
2 — the Head of cylinders. After replacement it is necessary to replace cooling liquid. Minimum height: 139.20 mm.
3 — the Oil separator
4 — the Bolt of fastening of a head of cylinders
5 — the Cover of a head of cylinders
6 — the ignition Coil
7 — the Cover
8 — Consolidation. In the presence of damage or leakage replace

9 — the Nut, 10nm. At first internal, then external nuts, an inhaling cross-wise are tightened
10 — Consolidations of a cover of a head of cylinders. In the presence of damage or leakage are replaced. Before installation transitions are condensed with AUDI "AMV 174 004 01" sealant.
11 — Consolidation. Surely replace
12 — the Combined valve of supply of secondary air, with a branch pipe
13 — the Bolt, 10nm
14 — the Flange with the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid
15 — the Bolt, 10nm

The general instructions are similar to the petrol ALZ engine of 1.6 l. On illustrations the petrol AVJ/BFB engine is represented. The design of the petrol engine of 2.0 l is similar.

Consolidation of places of interface of a cover of the double bearing / head of cylinders

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Engine of 1.8 l: Grease places AMV 174 004 01 specified by shooters on the top sealing surface of a head of cylinders a small amount of sealant, for example.

Consolidation of places of interface of the mechanism of adjustment of camshafts and head of cylinders

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Engine of 1.8 l: Grease the places specified by shooters on the top sealing surface of a head of cylinders with a small amount of sealant, for example, of AMV 174 004 01.

Detachment of a cover of a head of cylinders

  1. Turn out nuts (arrows on an accompanying illustration) fastenings of a cover of a head of cylinders and uncover.

Tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders
