1.6 l (ALZ): The engine line, with one verkhneraspolozhenny cam-shaft (OHC). The camshaft is located in a head of cylinders and is set in motion by a gear belt. The shaft affects the hydraulic pushers located vertically which in turn influence inlet and final valves.
1.8 and 2.0 l (AVJ, BFB, ALT): The engine line, with two verkhneraspolozhenny cam-shafts (DOHC), has for each cylinder three of inlet and two final valves. One camshaft sets in motion inlet valves, another final. The camshaft of final valves is set in motion from a cranked shaft through a gear belt. Camshafts of inlet and final valves are connected with each other by a chain.
2.0 l of FSI (AWA): The engine line, with two verkhneraspolozhenny cam-shafts (DOHC), has for each cylinder on two inlet and final valves.
